In this blog, we will try to answer all of the commonly asked questions surrounding vape juice.

Explanation of Vape Juice

There are three primary vape juice ingredients, they are;

  • Vegetable Glycerin
  • Propylene Glycol
  • Flavourings

Some vape juices also contain Nicotine, which is an addictive ingredient. There are nicotine free solutions like Shortfill vape juices which you can add Nic shots to.

Vape juice is the liquid that you put into the tank of a vaping device and it’s what creates vapour when heated up by the coil within the vape tank. This is what you inhale and exhale when using your vape.

There are an absolute endless multitude of flavours of vape juice, and whatever flavour you opt for is what the vapour will taste like. They also come in various nicotine strengths depending on what the consumer wants.

Why choose Freebase nicotine as your vape juice of choice?

There are two types of nicotine used within vape juice. They are Freebase Nicotine, or Nicotine Salts. Freebase nicotine may be the better option for someone starting out on their vaping journey, as they have more variation of strengths and options.

A few of the benefits of using freebase nicotine vape juices are;

  • More variation in MG strength

  • More suitable for light use

  • Varying VG/PG ratios

Freebase nicotine vape juice has more benefits than the above mentioned including being a key tool in helping people out of nicotine addiction. Nicotine levels start as low as 3mg, all the way up to 18mg, so if you were a light smoker, smoking around 10 cigarettes a day, 6mg would be the best suited strength for you. With Nic Salts only being available in 10/20mg, these could be too strong if you are only a light smoker. The more varied nicotine content levels and options will aid the transition from smoking to vaping. this greatly. Freebase 5050 Vape Juice – A simplistic device like a pen style vape, or pod system would be best suited to use for Freebase vape juice. These devices can be used for Mouth to Lung Vaping and replicate the sensation of smoking quite well.

Nic Salts – Similar to Freebase, using a pen style or pod system vape device is what most vapers tend to go for. This is because these are low powered device and do not need to be ran at a high wattage to give a satisfying hit due to Nic Salts giving a stronger nicotine kick.

High VG Vape Juice – This juice is a high mix of VG to PG, making it a lot more thicker than normal 50/50 vape juices so they will need to be used with a sub ohm vape kit with high power output to be able to heat the liquid and create large clouds of vapour.

Why do I cough when I vape my liquid?

There are a number of factors that could lead to vape liquid making the user cough.

  • Vaping is quite a different sensation to smoking, therefore the inexperienced user may find the variation in throat hit quite different and unexpectedly causing them to cough. The selected number of Watts on your device will play an important part also, if you find it’s making you cough or the throat hit is too much, trying to lower the wattage on your device.

  • As with all vape liquid, the MG strength will depend on how harsh the liquid is on your throat. If 20mg is too harsh, try the lower 10mg strength. And also, the Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerine (VG) mix can cause a dry mouth/throat, especially when vaped constantly.
